Is He Enjoying the Fame? Photos of Nnamdi Kanu Refusing to Take Off Handcuffs in Court

Detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) appeared in court today and caused quite a stir when he refused to take off his handcuffs and alight from the prison van.

Embattled director of Radio Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, reportedly caused a mild drama during a court appearance today, February 9, 2016, when he refused to take off his handcuffs.

It was also reported that Nnamdi appeared at the Federal High Court in Abuja and refused to come out of the prison van which conveyed him to the court premises.

He was eventually convinced to disembark by his lawyer, Chuks Mouma who was invited by prison officials to intervene. However, upon entering the court, he made another scene by refusing to take off the handcuffs.

The leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), is facing charges of treason and is currently being held at the Kuje Prison in Abuja after being refused bail by the court.
