According to CBS News, Neptune Beach police spokesman Michael Key revealed that the boy and his stepfather were swimming in chest-deep water on Sunday afternoon when the shark attacked.

 

The shark latched on to the boy's right leg - on the backside of his right knee and his calf - and then swam off.

 

Around 3pm lifeguards were notified of a teenage boy being pulled by other swimmers from an apparent shark bite. 

 

Lifeguards estimate the shark that bit the unidentified boy was about five to six feet long. The laceration left on his leg was about eight inches long. 

 

'This lady runs in the water carries this boy. All you see is just blood, dripping and dripping out for about 50 feet,' said Lou DeMark.

 

In a video taken by a witness, the boy can be seen on what appears to be a paddle board or some type of emergency board. 

 

He is comforted by an adult who presses the teen's head into his shoulder as a lifeguard wearing blue gloves tends to the wound in the 13-year-old's leg. 

 

'One witness tells me that the boy was hysterical after a shark bit him and his dad was hugging him trying to calm him down,' Action News Jax reporter Katie McKee tweeted.

The boy was taken to UF Health Jacksonville in Florida in stable condition and although authorities said his injury was severe it was not considered life-threatening.  

 

Key said it was the first shark attack of the season at the beach.

 

Some scientists have predicted the increase in attacks this year and say it is due to climate change.

 

George Burgess, director of the International Shark Attack File at the University of Florida, warned that the United States could expect more than 100 attacks this year - thanks, in part, to global warming.

The one year-old boy in Delhi is suffering from a rare condition called precocious or early puberty. He reportedly has fully grown s*xual organs and desires like that of a 25-year-old man.

 

According to Hindustan Times, doctors at Max Super Speciality Hospital in Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, said that the testosterone (male sex hormone) levels of the child were 500-600 nanogram per deciliter (ng/dl) compared to the average hormone levels of 20 ng/dl.

 

Doctors said that precocious puberty affects only one in 100,000 children in the age group of 8 to 10 years. However, attaining puberty at the age of 1 is extremely rare, doctors say.

 

They said that the incidence of such cases is increasing, with 1 to 2 cases now being reported in 1000,000 boys.

 

"It is a rare case that happens once in 10 odd years. Precocious puberty is traumatic for a child of his age. The baby can't express his feelings or understand what is happening to him, while his parents are left confused," Vaishakhi Rustagi, consulting paediatric endocrinologist at Max Super Speciality Hospital who is treating the boy, was quoted by the HT as saying.

 

The boy's parents observed the unusual growth patterns in his body six months after he was born. Although they ignored these changes initially, thinking their child may be a little bigger than other babies.

 

Gradually, the boy became not only taller, but his genitals grew abnormally.

 

"We thought maybe he was just a big baby, so we did not take him to the doctor. But by the time he was one, it was apparent there was something wrong. My mother-in-law, who has taken care of several children in the family, also said that his growth seemed unnatural. That is when we took him to the doctor," the boy's mother was quoted by the daily as saying.

 

His parents finally took him to a doctor when he was 18 months old. By then, he was 95 centimeters tall, 10-15 cms taller than the children of his age, had facial and body hair and his voice had also started breaking.

 

Rustagi said that the unusual changes in the baby's body were due to exceptionally high testosterone levels due to which he would experience sexual urges too.

 

"Since he was so young, he was not able to understand what was happening. He would experience sexual urges too," Rustagi said.

 

The doctors are now treating him with hormone block therapy under which the boy needs to be injected once every month to block the effects of testosterone. He would be treated with the therapy for the next 10 to 12 years.

 

"If such children are not treated, they will become violent. The physical changes will not be suitable for their age. They will also stop growing after a few years and remain about 3-4ft tall," Rustagi told the daily.

 

The hormone therapy is costing the baby's parents Rs. 11,000 a month. No insurance company has agreed to support them financially, the daily reported.

A woman who went for a swim in a water infested by crocodiles has tragically disappeared from sight as her friend watched.

The woman was taken by a crocodile during a late-night swim in far-north Queensland.

 

She is still missing after she was snatched from the water on Sunday night.

 

Daily Mail reports that the woman, 46, was swimming with her friend, 47, at Thornton Beach at Daintree, north of Cairns, about 10pm.

 

The pair had waded in to waist-deep water in an area known to have a high population of crocodiles, and as the woman was dragged away her friend tried desperately to free her from the creature's clutches.

 

The missing woman is from Lithgow in NSW, while her friend who survived the attack is from Cairns in far-north Queensland, Queensland Ambulance told Daily Mail Australia.

 

Meantime Federal MP Warren Entsch has said the attack must not spark a hysterical debate about crocodile management in his electorate, instead blaming 'human stupidity'.

 

'You can't legislate against human stupidity,' he told AAP on Monday. 'This is a tragedy but it was avoidable. There are warning signs everywhere up there.'

Mr Entsch said he feared the attack might spark a reactive debate about how to manage crocodiles, but people must remember the attack happened inside a national park in an area where visitors are warned about the dangers.

 

'Let's not start vendettas. It's hard enough for some families to make a quid up there in the Daintree, showcasing crocs in their environment,' he said.

 

'People have to have some level of responsibility for their own actions.'

 

Earlier Senior Constable Russell Parker revealed details about the struggle which saw the 46-year-old taken away by a crocodile.

 

'Her 47-year-old friend tried to grab her and drag her to safety and she just wasn't able to do that,' he told ABC radio.

 

'They had been walking along the beach and they've decided to go for a swim ... (it was) probably a very nice, clear night, but obviously (they) may not have been aware of the dangers.

 

'We believe they were visiting the area and weren't local to it,' Mr Parker said.

 

The swimmer's last words before she disappeared were 'a croc's got me', Channel Nine reported. 

 

The friend then ran to a nearby business to raise the alarm, and was taken to hospital suffering shock and grazes.

 

Queensland Ambulance service said the woman was extremely traumatised, having watched her friend being pulled out into the ocean.

 

A search and rescue is currently underway for the missing woman - who is originally from New Zealand - after an extensive search overnight found no trace of the victim.

The experience is really exciting. Moving from one place to the other to play football. You know when I played with the Germans, you know what to expect and what you are against. But in the French League, it is highly technical but not as easy to understand as the German techniques. It’s like really different from each country I must say. That’s why it’s easy for me to know how to play against the teams of the countries I have been to. Because I have been through their system of play. So, I know what I am up against. It is really a good experience, you know like they say, experience is the best teacher.

It was not like a straight business but you have to have something behind your mind of what you want to really achieve. That’s what I had at the back of my mind that I want to score and that I have to score. So, that’s what I do in every game, I always try to score.

It’s not new. If every one in life acts the same way it is going to be a boring world. You choose your style and you embrace it. That’s me. For now, that’s what I feel comfortable with. I don’t take it in a bad way because it shows that I am doing something different and spectacular to have been noticed.

 

Well, I really really don’t let that bother me. It’s just like when ladies put on bum shorts and exposing better part of their body and been tagged as prostitutes. Whether I am gay, or straight or bisexual, it shouldn’t be defined by how I am dressed or not. There are gay people that except they tell you they are gay before you’ll know that they are. I am just living my life the way I feel I should live it. So, I don’t owe nobody any explanation or tell anybody if I am gay or straight or bisexual.

Thug Bites Off Another Man's Ear During a Fight But What His Mother Did About it is Even More Shocking! (Photos)

A young man who had gotten into a fight with another man, suddenly bit off the man's ear in a fit of anger, but his mother did something that shocked everyone.

James Dagnall, a thug bit off another man's ear during a fight but his mother shocked him even more. She carefully picked up the piece of flesh, washed it and handed it back to the bleeding victim.

 

21-year-old Dagnall attacked the man in a savage and unprovoked incident outside his home - clamping his teeth on to the victim’s ear for 10 seconds before letting go and spitting the flesh out onto the floor.

 

But in a bizarre twist, Dagnall's mum managed to find it, washed it and gave it back to the victim. However, doctors could not re-attach it.

 

Hull Crown Court , East Yorks., heard the attack happened on March 24, last year, when the victim had waded into a row to defend his friend - the former girlfriend of Dagnall.

 

The violent offender, who a jury found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article, has been locked up for six years for the brutal attack.

 

 

Judge David Tremburg told Dagnall: "You were angry and jealous. He [the victim] told you he did not want to live on the estate where he was born and brought up because he was fearful of an assault by you."

"He took the fateful decision to try and nip it in the bud by trying to talk it out with you," the judge continued. "During the course of that visit, he says he spoke to you in a civil manner and you attacked him. He managed to restrain you in a headlock on the floor.

"He agreed to let you go but you then took the opportunity to free yourself and lashed out with your teeth, spitting the ear onto the floor."

 

He added that Dagnall made the matter even worse by then arming himself with a knife which he brandished at the victim.

 

"The dangers of young people brandishing knifes is obvious," he said. "All too often, someone is seriously hurt, sometimes fatally."

 

The attack has had a profound effect on the victim, the court was told.

 

"Even surgery would not produce a particularly satisfactory result," said the judge.

Ameya Vaidyanathan's horrific crash at the British F3 round at Oulton Park in Cheshire.

 

A video has shown how popular racer, Ameya Vaidyanathan, got lucky after a breathtaking crash during a British Formula 3 race at Oulton Park.

 

The crash destroyed Vaidyanathan's Carlin car and sent him and the wreckage hurtling through the air during race one at the Cheshire track.

 

Vaidyanathan was lining up in sixth place on the grid for the first race but he lost four places at the start.

 

 

As he made his way through the field he made contact with South African Sisa Ngebulana, which saw his car flip over and fly through the air before rolling along the ground multiple times, with the race immediately red-flagged.

 

Spectators watched on horrified as the Carlin flies through the air, with Vaidyanathan in the cockpit.

 

But despite the devastating crash and the car being a total wreck, the Indian driver was checked over at the medical centre at the track and walked away unscathed.

 

 

Speaking after the incident he said: "Ngebulana had a poor exit out of the first corner and we were side-by-side heading into the flat kink heading into Cascades.

"Unfortunately our wheels touched and after that my view was quite disturbing. I felt quite a few big hits but I have no idea what direction they were in or where they came from," he added.

 

“I am just very thankful to the people at Tatuus for the strength of the car, the people involved in the championship too and everyone in the team for all their support.

"Once the accident finished, I was in quite a bit of shock but once that initial traumatic period had subsided then it was all ok."

Anti-human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection said that in the evening on May 26, police cracked down on virginity trading related crimes when a woman was found brining some young schoolgirls to the hotel for their virginity trade business located in Chea Sim Blvd, Phnom Penh Thmey commune, Sen Sok district, Phnom Penh. 

 

 

Police quickly arrested her and saved four young schoolgirls whose age ranged from 17 to 23 years old. Police also confiscated $1,000 USD.

 

"The saved victims told police that they were brought to Cambodians who live abroad for the price ranging from $1,500 to $2,500. However, after they had slept with the customers, they only received $200. The suspect confessed to committing the crime of human trafficking." the police said

 

After questioning, the victims were sent to Social Ministry in Phnom Penh while the suspect was sent to court and later temporary imprisoned.

An angry anti-fascist activist threw a creamy chocolate cake at a top official of Germany’s Left Party at a party congress. The activist says the action was prompted by the politician’s anti-refugee stance.

 

Sahra Wagenknecht, an outspoken leader of Die Linke’s parliamentary faction, was targeted by an activist who threw a chocolate cake at her face during the party's convention in the city of Magdeburg on Saturday.

 

The cake attack was reinforced by other protesters throwing leaflets all over the place. A security detail took them away, while Wagenknecht was quickly surrounded by fellow party members, who covered her with their jackets in front of the cameras and escorted the MP out of the hall.

Nigerian soldiers have reportedly swooped on Kurutie, another community in Gbaramatu kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State in six gunboats at about 4.30 am, this Monday morning.

According to a report on Vanguard, Nigerian military troops this morning at about 4.30am, invaded on Kurutie (aka Little London), another community in Gbaramatu kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State, ‎in six gunboats hunting for members of the Niger Delta Avengers. 

 

It was gathered that the residents were asleep when they came, but many scampered into the bush when heard the sound of the gunboats. The soldiers, who quickly cordoned the community, embarked on a house to house search. 

 

An informant disclosed to Vanguard on phone at about 5.30am and said, "I am looking at the soldiers from a hideout in the bush, they are going from house to house. We know their tactics, so we ran away when they landed this morning at the jetty in the town, belonging to Tompolo’s father."

 

Popular militant warlord, Tompolo's father was not in Kurutie when soldiers stormed the town this morning, but an over 70-year-old man, simply identified as Do Good Ikekama, is among the citizens allegedly molested and forced to take the soldiers around some homes. 

 

Chief Godspower Gbenekama, an Ijaw leader, who spoke to Vanguard at about 6.00am, confirmed the siege to Kurutie, adding that despite‎ the appeal by the Gbaramatu monarch, HRM Oboro Gbaraun II, to the Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brigadier General Paul Boroh (retd) that the soldiers should be professional in their duties, they were still harassing people. 

 

However, the soldiers, according to reports, left the community at about 6.30am.

In a historic landmark judgement, the Extraordinary African Chambers in Dakar Senegal, on Monday, sentenced former Chadian dictator, Hissene Habre, to life imprisonment for human rights abuses, extrajudicial killings and rape.

 

Described as the first of its kind where a ruler of one country is convicted for human rights crimes by another country, the conviction and sentencing, brings relief to tens of thousands of his victims who have waited for justice for more than 25 years.

 

It also shows that there is no hiding place for present and former dictators, especially in Africa, who committed or are committing widespread human rights abuses in their countries.

 

It was learnt that the crimes for which he was convicted was committed between 1982 and 1990 when he ruled the Central African country with iron fist, and apart from the widespread right abuses committed by his junta, he was personally convicted for committing rape.

 

Gaetan Mootoo, Amnesty International West Africa researcher said, "This verdict is a victory for those victims who fought tirelessly to ensure Hissène Habré could not get away with crimes under international law.

 

"It demonstrates that when there is enough political will, states can work together effectively to end impunity in even the most entrenched situations.

"It is moments like these that other victims around the world can draw on in darker times when justice appears beyond reach. It will nourish them with hope and give them strength to fight for what is right. 

"This landmark decision should also provide impetus to the African Union or individual African states to replicate such efforts to deliver justice to victims in other countries in the continent," he said.

 

Reed Brody from Human Rights Watch, who has worked on the case for 17 years and was in court for the judgement said, "Today will be carved into justice as the day that a band of unrelenting survivors brought their dictator to justice."

 

Throughout the trial, Habre refused to recognise the court's legitimacy, frequently disrupting proceedings. The ex-president denied accusations that he ordered the killing of 40,000 people during his rule from 1982 to 1990.

 

His critics dubbed him "Africa's Pinochet" because of the atrocities committed during his rule.

 

Survivors had recounted gruesome details of the torture carried out by Habre's feared secret police. One of the most notorious detention centres in the capital N'Djamena was a converted swimming pool.

 

Witnesses said victims endured electric shocks, near-asphyxia, cigarette burns and having gas squirted into their eyes.

 

Some were subjected to "supplice des baguettes" (torture by sticks), when the victim's head is put between sticks joined by rope which is then twisted.

The governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, on Sunday revealed that he apprehended a couple for dumping refuse on the Lagos-Ibadan Highway, and handed them over to the police for prosecution.

 

Mr. Amosun made this known during the 2016 Democracy Day event organised by the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, held at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta‎.

 

He said the couple were caught while offloading the garbage from the booth of their Lexus SUV on their way to church.

 

“I was coming from Lagos to Abeokuta, when I saw this Lexus Jeep parked on the Highway,” Mr. Amosun said while giving details of the incident. “The car was conveying the couple and their children to church. I thought the car had a fault, but I found out that the booth was opened.

 

“On moving closer I was shocked to see the husband, a well read man, moving out heap of refuse from the booth and dumping on the highway,on their way to church,an indication that that had been their stock in trade.

 

“As soon as my convoy stopped, the couple took off, and I ordered my security to pursue them, they were pursued to Ojota in Lagos before they were arrested.

 

“As I am talking to you now, the suspect is in Ibara Police here in Abeokuta and would be taken to court on Tuesday.”

‘When they were in the hospital, the doctors said they were non-identical, but since they came home lots of people have said they can’t tell them apart.’

They are the youngest of what is thought to be only a handful of naturally conceived sets of identical triplets in the UK. ‘I was surprised because I expected them to be non-identical,’ she said. ‘But then I’m normally the only one who can tell them apart, so that does explain a lot!’

 

Miss Allen, from Gateacre, Liverpool, who also has a three-year-old daughter, Indiana, had an early scan nine weeks into the pregnancy due to severe headaches and nausea – and was given the bombshell news she was expecting triplets.

 

‘I couldn’t believe it,’ she said. ‘I hadn’t even thought it might be twins, let along triplets, and we haven’t got any in the family.’

Now thriving at home, their personalities are starting to show through, their mother said. ‘Rohan is the loud one, he’s always shouting,’ she said. ‘Rocco is normally quite laid-back, but he can be feisty too, while Roman is usually complaining that he doesn’t want to share.

 

They’re always crawling about after the same toy, trying to get to it before their brothers do.

 

The triplets get through around 130 nappies a week between them and four packs of baby wipes,

while a pack of formula lasts about two days and the washing machine is run around three times a day

Darren Mitchell, a dad who died after his truck became submerged during torrential floods sent a haunting last Facebook post showing his hopeless final moments.

 

The 21-year-old man appeared to have become trapped in his vehicle as flood waters rose during brutal floods in Texas, US.

 

He posted a picture from inside his truck along with the caption "And all I wanted was to go home".

 

 

His body was later found more than a mile downstream from where his overturned truck was discovered.

 

Darren was one of four people killed in floods which struck the region on Thursday.

 

Family members of the National Guardsman said he called them to say he was trapped in flood waters shortly before making the social media post.

 

Ro Mitchell told KHOU: "He just said he was all right and he made it out of the truck."

Eye-witnesses Lashandoe Smith said Mr Mitchell had climbed out onto the roof of his truck before it toppled into raging flood water.

 

She said: "He got out of his truck, he got in the bed of his truck, he got back out, on top of his truck, and then all of the sudden he got back in his truck.

"And like maybe 10, 15 minutes after he was in his truck, it just flipped and he topsided into the water"

It is an all out war between two family members as they fight dirty over who will inherit their late brother's wife.

A shameful incident has seen two family members from Kakamega in Zimbabwe fighting over who should inherit their late brother’s wife.

 

According to The Nairobian, Alfred Mukhobi died in 2010 after a short illness, leaving behind his wife, Rose Abwona, 45, a mother of nine.

 

However, things are not looking well for the late man's cousins. Mukhobi’s cousin, Alexander Alusa, who went ahead to inherit Rose and has been taking care of her and providing for her kids has now incurred the wrath of Mukhobi's brother, Henry Mukhobi who is threatening fire. He accused Alusa of being selfish and greedy.

 

It is alleged that on several occasions, he (Henry) attacked Alusa, leaving him with serious injuries.

 

Giving details why the two are fighting, Henry said that Alusa’s decision to inherit his late brother’s wife was wrong and could anger Mukhobi’s spirits. He claimed he was the rightful inheritor because he was the deceased’s brother.

“If my late brother learns that he inherited his wife, trust me, he will be very angry,” said Henry adding that, “This man Alusa even moved into my brother’s house, which is disrespectful! What nonsense is that?”   

 

However, Alusa has refused to leave Rose saying that she is in love with him.

 

“I was to build Rose a new house, but the community didn’t allow it. She appreciates the fact that I have been paying her kids’ school fees and providing for her since her husband died,” the 69-year-old father of one child who lost his wife in 1998, said.

 

He added: “I work at a hotel in Kakamega town as a plumber and living in Khayega is more convenient since I can get to town early enough, compared to when I used to live in Chirobani. I removed one iron sheet from  my late cousin’s house and replaced it with a brand new one as tradition dictates. I also shifted the bed position to signify a new beginning."

 

However, told has revealed that she loves Alusa and has no plans of leaving him since he even paid her dowry.

“I love him. He gave my parents Sh20,000 and one cow that my late husband hadn’t finished paying,” she said.  She accused Henry of being abusive and disrespectful some years back after she refused his advances.
