Woman Finds 15-Foot Python Harassing Her Saint Bernard

Residents of Warren County, Missouri, finally know why small animals have been disappearing and dogs have been barking at odd times in the night.

The likely culprit -- a monstrous 14-foot-7-inch Burmese Python weighing in at 160 pounds -- was found by local resident Pauline Horstdaniel in her yard, local station KTVI reports. Her dog's panicked barking at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday tipped her off, she told the station. (For perspective, her dog is a Saint Bernard mix, a large breed not typically preyed upon by snakes that swallow animals whole.)

"I was terrified," Horstdaniel recalled to KTVI. “I got my husband out of bed. He’s out there in his underwear with his gun.”

A call to a local snake expert proved fruitless, as he offered to catch the python -- but only when he got back into town days later.

Fearing the handgun they owned wasn't big enough for the job, they called neighbor Clayton Dement, who owned a shotgun and killed the snake with two shots to the head.

"I had every intention of trying to catch it, until I saw it. And then I thought, ‘Nope, I’m not playing with that,’" Dement told radio hosts on St. Louis' The Ryan Kelley Morning After show on Wednesday.

Dement expressed regret for having had to kill the animal he described as "a monster," saying he wished whoever dumped the exotic pet had taken responsibility for it and "gone through the proper channels," perhaps handing it off to a zoo.

Residents are concerned that whoever released the python may have left more snakes in the area, he added -- meaning locals won't feel completely safe until winter.

'Rowdy' Roddy Piper dead at 61

Wrestling superstar "Rowdy" Roddy Piper has died at age 61. Multiple reports indicate that Piper died in his sleep from a heart attack.

"Rod passed peacefully in his sleep last night," Piper's agent Jay Schacter told Variety. “I am shocked and beyond devastated.”

Upon learning of his death, WWE chairman Vince McMahon tweeted that Piper was "one of the most entertaining, controversial and bombastic performers ever in WWE beloved by millions of fans around the world."

Piper, whose real name was Roddy Toombs, is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, and was one of the core members of the '80s-era WWE (then known as the WWF). Born in Saskatchewan, Canada, Piper competed in the very first Wrestlemania, working a faux-Scottish angle in a tag-team match (along with Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff) against Hulk Hogan and Mr. T, and quickly became one of the sport's most hated villains.

Piper's rivalries with Hogan, Jimmy Snuka and even Cyndi Lauper set the tone for the WWF, helping the wrestling organization achieve the nationwide prominence that it enjoys to this day.

President Buhari Orders Immediate Release of N5bn To Boko Haram Victims Support Fund

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday in Abuja directed the Head of Service of the Federation, Mr. Danladi Kifasi, to facilitate the immediate release of the N5 Billion pledged by the Federal Government since August 2014 for the Victims Support Fund (VSF).
President Buhari gave the directive after receiving a briefing from the VSF Presidential Committee headed by Lt. Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (rtd.) at the Presidential Villa.
General Danjuma had told the President that out of the N55.92 Billion pledged at the fund-raising dinner for the Fund in August last year, N33.54 Billion was still outstanding, including N5 Billion from the Federal Government.
He said that the VSF currently has N23.33 Billion in four bank accounts and that the Committee received approval from the immediate past administration to incorporate the fund into a Trust Fund, to “insulate it from political interference”.
General Danjuma had urged the President to use his office to persuade all organizations and individuals to honour their pledges to the Committee.
President Buhari urged the Committee to ensure proper coordination with other government agencies providing support and assistance to victims of terrorism.
The President assured General Danjuma and members of the VSF Committee that his administration was taking proactive steps to defeat terrorism in the country.
He said that despite the challenge of acquiring much needed strategic equipment and weapons to confront the terrorists, the Nigerian military has recently gained much ground in its effort to defeat and degrade Boko Haram.
He added that the full deployment of the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF), under the auspices of member-states of Lake Chad Basin Commission, will further boost ongoing military operations against the insurgents.

Mother of Three Leads Notorious Armed Robbery Gang. Strips Female Police Officer N aked

Twenty-six-year-old Victoria Momidu, is a lady, one could described as a shy person at first glance. But as she stood along with her partner in crime behind the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Lagos State Command, Ikeja, one could best imagine how calm but deadly she could be while operating alongside her robbery gang.

“I was hustling before I met Okokawon, who is my boyfriend. He told me to join his gang,” Victoria said.
When she was asked to explain what she meant by hustling, she replied in one word “prostitution.”

Daily Trust reports that Victoria and one other member of her gang were arrested recently by the men of Lagos State SARS, who had been on their trail after receiving a tip-off about the gang’s plan.
She and her gang had robbed some passengers along the Mile 2- Badagry Expressway. They operate from private cab, a police source alleged.
It all began some months ago, Victoria narrated. She said another member of the gang, Okolawon, (also in SARS custody) had approached her on the need for her to join the gang.
Victoria Momidu said she was once a prostitute but had to stop prostituting six months ago because she was not making enough money from the aged long profession.
“I ran away from my husband’s house in February, abandoning my three children in the process. I came to Lagos to hustle soon after I left my husband and children in Benin. It was a lady I met inside a commercial bus at Mile 2 Motor Park that introduced me to prostitution. She took me to where she was leaving in a hotel at Seme. I later joined other ladies in the act.
“I was making between N2000 and N3,000 per night anytime I have a customer, who will take me home for the night. This was what I was doing, until I met Okokawon. He came to the hotel where I was staying along with some friends to drink. He later asked me if I will spend the night with him,” she said.
The suspect further alleged that Okolawon came back three weeks later to take her out again, saying that they actually spent the whole day together.
She explained that it was at their third outing that Okolawon started picking passengers with his car, a thing which he had not done in her presence before.
“He picked up four passengers, who were going to Badagri, from Iyana Oba bus stop on that day. That was around 9p.m. Somewhere around Okoafon, he stopped, pretending as if the car had suddenly developed fault. It was a lonely stretch of road. Suddenly, another car stopped and the occupants of the car jumped out and I noticed that they were armed with dangerous weapons. They collected all cash and valuables that were in possession of the passengers,” she said.
Vick, as she is known by members of the gang, alleged that at first she was afraid, but that she later discovered that they were Okokawon’s armed robbery gang and that it was a planned attack.
“I was not given anything the first day out with the gang since it was my first experience. I discovered that I was only used to deceive passengers to board the car. The second time out I was given N10,000 after the operation. Outside cash, Okolawon goes with all phones collected from victims,” she said.
She further confessed that she eventually joined the gang after she discovered that she will make more money from the operation than prostituting.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Cornelius Kayode Aderanti, who confirmed the report, said that the suspect along with four others, were involved in series of armed robbery operations along the Mile 2 -Badagry Expressway.
The Lagos State police boss said that before their arrest, the suspects, who operate in two cars, a Mazda and a Honda Haller, had earlier robbed some traders and that one of the victims, who took down the vehicles’ numbers, had reported the attack at Ojo Police Station.
“The case was handed over to a female police inspector. While she was investigating the matter, she too fell victim to the gang. She was stripped Unclad before her cash and valuable was taken away by the gang led by Okolawon. It is a clear case of catch in the air,” he added.
He stated further that unfortunately for the gang, they were sighted by the female Police Inspector around Alaba Rago bus stop area on the Mile 2 -Badagry expressway.
‘She raised alarm that led to the arrest of one Isiaka Ahmed, 33. Other members of the gang fled, abandoning their operational vehicle. The case was transferred to SARS. It was through investigation that led police to a hotel at Seme, where Victoria Momud was arrested,” he added.
He explained that effort was ongoing to arrest the other members of the gang.

JUST IN: EFCC Goes After Ex-Gov Chime’s Chief Of Staff

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has begun quizzing Chief Mrs. Ifeoma Nwobodo, the former Chief of Staff to Sullivan Chime, the former governor of Enugu State.
This interrogation is seen as preparatory to moving against the former governor.
According to Vanguard report, Nwobodo arrived the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, atabout 9.30a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2015, and was immediately taken to the interrogation room where she was interrogated on issues bordering on misappropriation of public funds.

Nwobodo was said to have been grilled on what she knew about conspiracy and diversion of Enugu state funds by the former governor and his cronies.
A top EFCC official said: “Nwobodo’s invitation is believed to be precursor to the interrogation of her former principal as the agency is said to be flooded with petitions indicting Chime of humongous graft during his eight-year rule of Enugu State as governor from 2007 to 2015.”
She is still being interrogated by a team of crack detectives to determine whether or not to file charges against her, the former governor and his aides named in the petitions.
The spokesperson of the EFCC, confirmed that the former COS to ex-governor Sullivan was being interrogated by operatives of the agency.
It was gathered that the EFCC has been flooded with petitions indicting Chime of huge graft during his eight-year rule as governor of Enugu state from 2007 to 2015.
Some weeks back, Chime had pleaded with those he may have offended in the course of his eight-year stay in office to forgive him.

Immigration Arrest Pastor For Child Trafficking

A Lagos based pastor identified as Uzonna Gacenine of New World Assembly Church at Ajegunle Lagos has ran into trouble  with the law over allegation of child trafficking for prostitution.

Pastor Uzonna was arrested by Immigration officers attached to the  Lagos State  Command  following  allegation that she helped a 24-year- old lady Benedicta Ele-ojo
Okolo  to process an e-passport with false identity.

Naij.com learnt that Benedicta and Pastor Uzonna  visited the Alausa Passport office where the  Immigration boss  in charge of the Alausa Passport Office  Mr Joshua Ajisafe first discovered the discrepancy in Okolo’s biodata .
The Comptroller of Immigration, Lagos State Command Justina Aladi Ahmadu  stated that vigilant Immigration officers at the Passport office at Alausa suspected that Okolo was lying about her biodata during the capturing process and went on to investigate her.

” Benedicta is a victim of a human trafficking ring but our eagle eye officers noticed the discrepancies in her biodata and decided to drill her. She  lied to the  Passport officers that her name is Miss Karem Rachel but our investigation shows that her real name is Benedicta Elejo Okolo. Following her confession, we arrested her facilitator one pastor Gacenine Uzonna  and we have handed the suspects  to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Person (NAPTIP),” Ahmadu said.

Narrating how Okolo became a victim of child trafficking,  Ahmadu said: “Okolo said she  met one Mr. Charles Arinze and his sister on social media . Arinze and the sister claimed that they reside in Dubai and following their interaction on social media, Okolo  was invited to Lagos where she met one Agnes Chinyere who later took her to a herbalist where her hair from her private part , armpit , head and her blood were taken by the herbalist.

” They took her the next day to the airport with a proxy passport where she was refused departure . She was thereafter asked to meet Pastor Uzonna of the Word Assembly Church Ajegunle Lagos  who on July 9th, 2015 took her to the Passport office at Alausa  Ikeja  to process an e- passport with false name and date of birth.
“The false name was Miss Karem Rachel Taiwo 35 but our investigation shows that her original names are Benedicta Elejo Okolo 24. I directed that the Passport Control Officer in charge of Alausa Office play along by capturing and enrolling her bio-data so as to avoid the possibility of the victim and the facilitator going to another Passport office. When we found out that the victim was lying, we arrested her and the duo have been hands over  to NAPTIP.”

In another development, six Nigerian girls have been returned back to their homeland from Burkina Faso where they were allegedly taken to for prostitution by a female trafficker.

Very Sad!10 million Northern Children Out Of School

A new statistics has shown the alarming rate of out-of-school children in Nigeria at 11 million and the northern part of the country account for a whopping 90% of that figure. 


This disturbing figure was drawn to the attention of Nigerians by the the Bayero University Kano (BUK) Alumni Association on Thursday July 30. The association 

expressed shock over the figure while calling the federal government to as matter of urgency to declare a state of emergency in the sector.
The Punch reported that the ex-students of BUK said that such declaration become necessary to draw government’s attention to the sad state of country education sector pointing out this will make it possible for the government to implement free and compulsory  primary and secondary education.
This, they stated, is in line with best practices worldwide.
The president and vice-president of BUK Alumni Association, Dattijo Usman and  Dr. Nazifi Darma made this call in an interview with newsmen ahead of its fund-raising dinner scheduled for Saturday in Abuja.
Usman pleaded with the 19 governors of the northern states to take urgent steps to address the menace of Almajiri and hawkers to reduce social vices as well as insurgency.
He said: “Recent statistics have shown that 11 million children are not in school. The trend is increasing because out of this figure, 90 per cent (about 9.9 million) of them come from the North. It is our duty to draw the attention of policy makers and the National Assembly to ensure the implementation of UNESCO policy.
“Out of school cases are responsible for insurgency and Boko Haram. All these cosmetic Almajiri schools will not help matters. A state of emergency should be declared in education and all children of school age should be compelled to go to school.
“The government must ensure that children go to primary and secondary schools. It happened in other countries and Nigeria should not be an exception. We must do it here in Nigeria and every child must go to school, beginning from the primary and secondary levels.
“We are worried by this Almajiri menace. In fact, the 19 northern states governors should do something to reduce the trend. We hope to reach the governors. It is the responsibility of everyone of us to ensure that the future is better than our past.”
The immediate past administration of  President Goodluck Jonathan was reported to have build Almajiri schools across the northern states with the aim of providing integrated education that would comprise basic western education alongside Islamic education as a means of reducing the level of illiteracy in the North.

National Human Rights Commission Stops 40-Year-Old Man From Marrying 13-Year-Old Girl

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has stopped the planned marriage of a 40-year-old man to a 13-year-old primary five girl in Abuja

 

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has risen to the rescue of a 13-year old girl who was on the verge of being married off the a 40-year old man, Mr Ibrahim in Abuja. The little girl happens to be a primary 5 pupil of the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) Primary School in Abuja.

 

The marriage preparation came to a termination by the NHRC following an intelligence report. All the parties involved were invited for questioning while the 13-year old girl was taken away from the man's house.

After interrogation, the commission cited relevant laws to back its decision to stop the marriage including sections 21, 22, 23 of the Child Rights Act 2003 which prohibits child marriage or betrothal and also punishes the offence with five years imprisonment or an option of N500,000 fine.

The Executive Secretary of the commission, Professor Bem Angwe, while further referring the matter to the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command for prosecution, also expressed the determination of the commission to ensure the implementation of the Child Rights Act and its enforcement against all persons irrespective of their status or religious belief.

Parents and the general public have been urged to desist from child marriage as it is a grave crime against the law as it entails psychological, social and health implications.

Revealed! PDP is Officially Broke, Set to Sack Half of Its Staff

Reports have revealed that the former ruling party Peoples Democratic Party is in trouble financially.

 

According to Punch reports, the loss of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last general elections seem to has taken a toll on the party's finances as the party plans to reduce its work force by 50%.

 

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the party has concluded plans to sack half of its workforce.

 

Already, the National Secretary of the party, Prof. Wale Oladipo, has communicated the decision of the NWC to all its directors.

 

Oladipo made the party’s decision known via a memo yesterday, which was directed to “all directors and PS/DD/HOD/SAs/PAs and Establishment Staff” of the party in Abuja.

 

It was titled “Re-organisation and restructuring of staff at the national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party.”

 

Oladipo said the report “on the reorganisation and restructuring of staff at the national secretariat” and decisions was approved at the latest NWC meeting.

 

He also said the salaries and allowances of those to be left behind would also be cut by as much as 50 per cent. The decisions of the NWC includes, “reduction of the allowance of all NWC members by 50 per cent and reduction in the number of security personnel attached to the national officers by 50 per cent.”

 

Other include “reduction of the salaries and allowances of all staff (Establishment and Staff of NWC members) by 50 per cent, effective August, 2015. “Abolition of Research Directorate and transfer of its functions to the Peoples Democratic Institute.”

 

He added that “Establishment staff who would remain are required to obtain individual letter of revalidation from their state chapters within one month of this circular as to their suitability for service at the national secretariat.”

 

According to Punch, a senior staff of the party, who spoke on the issue but didn’t want to be named said, “We are in trouble in this party. The NWC members are lords unto themselves.

HND Degree to be Changed to Bachelor of Technology - JAMB

Great relief for admission seekers as JAMB has revealed that the discrimination in degrees in the country will soon come to an end when HND is transformed into Bachelor Of Technology

 

The Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, (JAMB), Prof. Dibu Ojerinde has said President Muhammadu Buhari is willing to implement the waiver that will end the Bsc and HND segregation.

 

Buhari had received the updated report on the Bsc and HND controversy, which was presented by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, MacJohn Nwaobiala last Tuesday.

   

Ojerinde, who spoke with reporters on Wednesday, recalled that the last administration set up a committee to look at how the two could be merged.

 

He said, “The system has not given adequate vision for the other levels of education. We have not encouraged technical education, we have not encouraged Teachers education also; in fact, we have not encouraged agricultural education to the extent that everybody feels that the only way to survive is to go to the University.

 

“The only way to make it is to have a degree; so I am saying we should revisit our system, we should look at why candidates don’t want to go to polytechnics, and we should look at why they don’t want teachers’ education; we should also revisit why they don’t want agriculture.

 

“By our experience, most people will like to study law, engineering, medicine, accountancy, these are the top courses being sought for in the universities; nobody wants to study education. So, I see we have problems in that area and I am sure the Federal Ministry of Education is trying to solve that problem.

 

“First of all Technical Education, there’s dichotomy between Bachelors degree and National Diploma or Higher National Diploma, (HND). It was one of the things presented to Mr. President to find a way of implementing the waiver of the dichotomy between HND and the Bsc degree. The so called HND should now be changed to Btech which means Bachelor of Technology.

A picture of an angry note from an intern to his old employer has been uploaded to Reddit by a man called Win_in_Roam who claims he found it in his workplace.

 

The message was written on the last Post-it of the pad, with the expectation that people wouldn't read it for a few months.

 

The letter read: "By the time you read this, I'll be long gone from this s***hole. I hope you enjoyed bossing me around. I bet you felt real good about yourself.

 

"Well I wonder how you feel now knowing I spat in your coffee every day", the note read.

 

There is some speculation on Reddit as to whether the message is real, but the intern isn't the first worker to write a disgruntled message to an employer.

South Africa and Ghana has been producing some really weird pastors in recent times. We've seen a pastor that made his congregation eat grass and drink fuel. And now, a new South African wonder pastor has emerged. This one makes some members eat soap as he rides on others. Prophet Agabus Nawa of Embassy of Glory Christ Centre, is reported to be a great man as his believers thinks he can also 'do and undo'.

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, spoke about Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka of the Enugu Adoration Centre in celebration of his 20th years of priesthood.

In a glowing tribute in recognition of Enugu popular Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka’s 20th anniversary of priesthood, President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday described the Enugu Adoration Ministries leader as a great cleric who was not afraid to speak truth, even at the cost of his own life or being hated by leaders in power.

He also extolled what he described as the 'extraordinary intrepidity' and 'remarkable patriotism of the priest.

It would be recalled that Mbaka was the cleric who predicted former President Goodluck Jonathan’s failure some months to the 2015 presidential election.

Presidential Senior special assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu noted in a statement that the president said Father Mbaka did nothing wrong in contributing to the country’s politics.

According to the statement;

 

"One’s voice to make one’s country better has nothing to do with politics, and that as the “conscience of the nation”, religious leaders cannot afford to be aloof or indifferent to the miseries of the people.

He (Buhari) said Mbaka rose to the occasion to add his voice in support of good governance and identify with ordinary Nigerians in the face of despair and uncertain future."

 

Though honest opinions attract hostility from leaders detached from reality, history would be kind to Father Mbaka for courageously speaking truth to power, even at great risks."

The presidential media aide added that President Buhari, who said he was "overwhelmed by Mbaka’s sincerity and patriotism" prayed God to grant the priest more good health, long life and wisdom in the service of humanity, adding that he is a fountain of inspiration to all Nigerians.

$13.7 Billon Worth of Oil Stolen Under NNPC - NEITI Boss Reveals

The Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, has said that between 2009-2012, about 160 million barrels of oil was stolen under the watch of NNPC.

During a courtesy call on Governor Nasir el-Rufai, at Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House, Kaduna, on Wednesday, Hajiya Zainab Shamsuna-Ahmed - the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, said between 2009-2012, about 160 million barrels of oil valued at $13.7 billion was stolen under the watch of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

She also said that subsidy payment from 2005-2012 indicated that $11.63 billion had been paid to the NNPC but that there is no evidence of the money being remitted to the federation account. She called on the Federal Government to privatize the refineries.

Hajiya Ahmed said, “Crude product swap of $866m was lost from 2009 to 2011 and $8243m in 2012. Total amount expended in subsidy payment from 2005 to 2012 as captured $11.63bn have been paid to the NNPC. However, there is no evidence that these amounts were remitted to the Federation Account,” she stated.

Meanwhile, Governor El-Rufai disclosed that since he called for the scrap of the NNPC, the corporation has been sponsoring articles in the media to attack him. He added that the corporation would be made to pay all monies it owed before its final death.

“NNPC has become a monster that is too powerful. I will continue to fight NNPC till it dies for Nigeria to survive. It is either Nigerians kill NNPC or NNPC will kill Nigeria. Since, I called for the death of NNPC, the corporation has sponsored articles attacking me, but I am telling them my skin is thicker than an elephant”, El-Rufai said.

Juan Andres Quevedo-Bosch, 59, who mounted the church podium to announce his homosexual status. He also shockingly revealed he would be divorcing his wife and marrying a younger male lover.

On a Facebook post this week, the Cuban-born prelate announced that he got married in a Los Angeles church.

I’m a middle-aged woman. I currently reside in Bwari Area Council of the FCT- Abuja. I’m a member of one of the new generation churches, and a church worker.

After my first son was born over 25 years ago, we stopped having other issues. My husband and I had visited several prayer houses around the country. We have even being to Synagogue Church of All Nations, to see TB Joshua, but we couldn’t see him in person. Different Pastors have prayed for us, and we truthfully exhibited high level of patience, waiting for God’s response. I had met pastors and I had met PASTORS. 40 percent of the pastors we met had made advances at me, even at my age. I realized that most of these Pastors are truly not who they claim they are. ‘’See finish’’ is what I think was my experience in their hands. I do not need to talk too much about the anointed ones, but the warning is that we all have to be careful while dealing with majority of them.

After several rough dealings with Pastors and men of God, with little or no results, we tried different health experts and hospitals. Results remained negative. It was getting to a frustrating level when a colleague from Cross River volunteered to take me to a man she simply referred to as ‘baba’. Being a strong believer, my husband was against the decision to travel to Ogoja to meet the man; out of desperation, I waved off his objection and we headed to Ogoja on a Monday morning. That was when everything became bitter.

Baba, on presenting everything he asked us to bring, told me that my problem rooted back to my mum, who had sex with my step brother shortly after I was born. The only solution he proffered was that I ‘sleep’ with my only Son to wade off the spirit of my step brother whom he claimed died shortly after mum’s death. According to him, the spirits were still angry that mum committed such an atrocity, hence I must atone their sins.

It was believable to me because mum is no more and I heard I also lost my step brother at a time.

I returned home and kept this a top secret. I didn’t tell my husband the real problem. It’s difficult to explain how I managed to convince my son to have knowledge of me, but it happened.

Truly, I became pregnant after then and I’m about to put to bed. I’m just afraid something bad may happen to me. As for my Son, he hates me at the moment. Even in my present state, my husband and I are always at loggerheads. It tells me that something is wrong. I always have nightmares; most times, two men chasing me with a knife. I can’t connect my pregnancy, the dream and my act. I am really confused and need help.
