How EFCC Interrogated Senate President's Wife For 7 Hours

Toyin Saraki, the wife to Senate President Bukola Saraki arrived at the EFCC totally unprepared for the round of interrogation that was to follow.

According to SaharaReporters, Toyin Saraki, the wife of the Senate President reportedly attended the first session of her interrogation with operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC yesterday, Tuesday, 28th of July.
 
She arrived at the EFCC office two hours behind schedule with a large crowd comprising of founder of the Anti-Corruption Network,  Senator, Dino Melaye and other supporters.
 
A reliable source in the anti-graft agency who happens to be a senior official told SaharaReporters that Toyin Saraki came unprepared and was shocked at how much the investigators knew about the corrupt activities she was accused of. She was also accused of trying to intimidate the investigators who carefully separated her from her entourage for a private session in order to avoid distractions.
 
According to the source, Mrs. Toyin Saraki was “thoroughly overwhelmed” by the knowledge of the investigators’ of her criminal acts linked to the laundering of stolen Kwara State funds and misappropriation of bank loans. She was left in shock in the course of her interrogation that lasted for 7 hours.

It should be recalled that Senator Saraki and his wife have been the subject of intense pressure over documents which reveal they have been stealing and laundering money from Kwara State and various financial institutions for decades. These documents also reveal that Mrs. Saraki has played a significant role in assisting to launder these funds.
