Pastor arrested performing rites with teenage girl in cemetery

A pastor of one of the Pentecostal churches in the state was arrested by officers of the Delta State Police Command at a cemetery in Ozoro while allegedly performing rituals with a teenage girl, NAN reports.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Celestina Kalu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said in a statement on Saturday in Asaba that the pastor was arrested by detectives acting on a tip-off.

She said:
“On July 30, 2015, at about 10.30 p.m., a police surveillance patrol team from Ozoro division, while on routine patrol arrested one Pastor Oro Oboreh of Christ Freedom Family, Ozoro, in a cemetery.
The suspect was arrested with a teenage girl, Chioma Praise, aged 14 years.
On interrogation, the suspect claimed that he was performing spiritual healing on the said Chioma Praise to enable her attain academic prowess.”
She said that the suspect was police custody and that investigation into the matter had commenced.
