Bana Fanaye also known as Mahamat Moustapha, said to be the mastermind of Boko Haram operations in Chad and northern Cameroon, has been arrested by authorities in Chad.

According to Cameroon Journal, Boko Haram recruiter named Bana Fanaye and also known as Mahamat Moustapha who is the brain behind the terrorist operations of the sect in Chad, Northern Cameroon has been apprehended by security operatives in Chad on Friday afternoon, 31st of July. He is well known for handling arms purchases and recruiting fighters for the sect.
His residence was reportedly searched by security operatives during which incriminating items like sophisticated weapons, cell phone sim cards amounting to 50 for various countries including Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad and Niger were uncovered.
Media reports quoted Chadian officials as saying that Fanaye is in charge of recruiting Boko Haram terrorists, planning of terrorism targets and operations in Chad and northern Cameroon.
His arrest helped security forces locate other Boko Haram members housed in an area called Diguel Diguessou in the 8th district, during which scores of Boko Haram fighters met their demise.
